The meeting was held at Atlantis the Palm Hotel, a close partner of biz-events, and we spent two days with like-minded team building experts from all over the Catalyst Global network. Some of these people, like biz-events, have been partners for 7 years, e.g. UK, South Africa, Singapore & Hong Kong, but some were completely new to the group, for example Australia and China. Other represented offices were France, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and Denmark.
There were many reasons for gathering in one place, and everyone felt that their expectations were exceeded in terms of the value we got out of the experience. As much as technology is making the world an ever smaller place, there is still no substitute for meeting face to face and spending time together. As well as making new friends and cementing existing relationships across the globe, this was a fantastic opportunity for all the Catalyst Global people to share ideas on marketing, sales and most importantly new team building products.
Some excellent ideas were generated and shared across the group, one of which was to create a web based forum to be able to continue to share new innovations and ideas. We have already created a Catalyst Global LinkedIn group to be able to do this, which will enable us to ask questions of each other, share great new practices or findings and also new team building products. Ultimately this will all benefit our customers, as we continue to offer cutting edge innovations and practices in the team building world.
The conference was also a superb opportunity to physically try out some new team building events that were introduced both by Catalyst Global themselves but also some of the franchise partners as well. We at biz-events have created a couple of our own new events, Dragon Squad and Eco City Build, which we were able to share with the group. We also were very pleased to learn about several other ideas that we intend to launch to our Middle East based clients in the near future – so watch this space!
Attending the Catalyst Global Conference we believe will make a big difference to the way we work. We have learned a lot from our global colleagues about how they do business, we have learned about some exciting new team building events, and finally we have made and developed some great friendships with some fantastic people from all over the world. Having so many people in one room, all of whom are running and innovating team building programs day in, day out, gives us so much scope to provide our clients with more and better amazing team building experiences. We are already looking forward to the next one!
